Wontons

Crispy Chinese dumplings with a succulent filling of pork and vegetables. An ideal appetizer or main course served hot with sauce.
Ingredients
- 454 g Pork
- 3 clove Garlic
- 1 tsp Ginger
- 1 tbsp Soy sauce
- 1 tsp Sesame oil
- 3 pcs Carrot
- 3 pcs Celery
- 6 pcs Green onions
- 1 pcs Wonton wrappers
- Vegetable oil
- Water
Instructions
- Finely chop the pork, garlic, carrot, celery, and green onions. In a bowl, combine the pork with garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, and the chopped vegetables. Mix the filling thoroughly.
- Lay out the wonton wrappers on a clean surface. Place a heaping teaspoon of filling in the center of each wrapper.
- Moisten two adjacent edges of the wrapper with water about 0.5 cm from the edge. Fold the wrapper diagonally to form a triangle and press the edges firmly to seal.
- Take the two sharp corners of the triangle and bring them together, pressing lightly to form the classic wonton shape.
- Heat the vegetable oil to 232°C. Fry the wontons in batches of 4–5 pieces at a time until they turn golden brown and crispy. This usually takes 2–3 minutes.
- Place the cooked wontons on paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot with sauce of your choice (sweet and spicy, soy, or any other sauce you prefer).
