Irish-Style Braised Pork in Cider

Tender pork braised in fragrant cider with bacon and vegetables—a classic Irish dish prepared in a single pot that fills your home with a cozy aroma.
Ingredients
- 30 g Butter
- 2 pcs Pork chops
- 4 pcs Bacon
- 2 pcs Potatoes
- 1 pcs Carrots
- 0.5 pcs Rutabaga
- 0.5 pcs Cabbage
- 1 pcs Bay leaf
- 100 ml Cider
- 100 ml Chicken broth
Instructions
- Heat the butter in a heavy-bottomed pot until sizzling. Add the pork chops and pan-fry for 2–3 minutes on each side until golden brown. Transfer the meat to a plate.
- In the same pot, add the diced bacon, carrots, potatoes, and rutabaga. Sauté over medium heat for 3–4 minutes until the vegetables are lightly browned. Add the shredded cabbage, return the pork chops to the pot, add the bay leaf, pour in the cider and broth. Cover and braise over medium heat for 20 minutes until the meat is cooked through and the vegetables are tender.
- Serve the dish hot directly from the pot, dividing the meat, vegetables, and sauce among serving plates.
