Torta de Flan

A Uruguayan pie with ham and cheese — a tender, juicy pastry with a crispy crust. It comes together quickly and is equally delicious served hot or cold.
Ingredients
- 150 g Cheddar cheese
- 200 g Ham
- 3 pcs Eggs
- 100 ml Vegetable oil
- 240 ml Milk
- 120 g Wheat flour
- 2 tsp Baking powder
- 1 tsp Salt
- to taste Dried oregano
Instructions
- Line the bottom of a 20–22 cm springform pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang along the edges — the batter will be liquid and may overflow. Preheat the oven to 220 °C.
- Grate the cheese on a coarse grater and cut the ham into small pieces.
- In a large bowl, combine the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, flour, baking powder, salt, and oregano. Beat for about one and a half minutes until smooth.
- Pour half of the liquid batter into the prepared pan. Distribute the ham and cheese evenly over it, then carefully pour the remaining batter on top.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown on top. Let the pie cool for a few minutes, then carefully remove it from the pan. Serve hot or at room temperature garnished with fresh herbs.
