Shakshuka with Feta

An aromatic Middle Eastern dish with eggs that simmer in a spiced tomato sauce with vegetables and crumbled feta cheese. Perfect for breakfast or a light dinner served with crusty bread.
Ingredients
- 4 pcs Eggs
- 3 tbsp Tomato sauce
- 1 tbsp Olive oil
- 1 pcs Shallot
- 1 pcs Celery
- 1 clove Garlic
- 1 cup Spinach
- 0.5 cup Feta cheese
- 0.5 pcs Red bell pepper
- 1 tsp Ground cumin
- 0.5 tsp Salt
- 0.5 tsp Black pepper
Instructions
- Dice the shallot, garlic, celery, and red bell pepper. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and sauté the vegetables for 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Add the ground cumin, salt, and black pepper, then pour in the tomato sauce. Simmer for another 7 minutes.
- Crack the eggs directly into the skillet, cover with a lid, and cook for 8 minutes until the egg whites are set.
- Finally, add fresh spinach and crumbled feta cheese, letting them warm through for 1–2 minutes.
- Serve the hot shakshuka with crusty bread.
