Cucumber Salad with Sesame

A fresh and crunchy Chinese salad with fragrant sesame oil, rice vinegar, and a subtle kick of heat. The perfect side dish for any Asian cuisine.
Ingredients
- 2 pcs Cucumbers
- 0.5 tsp Salt
- 2 tsp Sesame oil
- 2 tbsp Rice vinegar
- 6 pcs Basil leaves
- 0.5 tsp Red chili flakes
- 2 tsp Sesame seeds
Instructions
- Peel the cucumbers. Cut each cucumber into quarters lengthwise. If the seeds taste bitter, remove them with a small spoon. Then slice the cucumbers crosswise into pieces approximately 1 cm thick.
- Place the sliced cucumbers in a salad bowl. Sprinkle with salt and toss well. Add the sesame oil, rice vinegar, red chili flakes, and basil leaves (if using). Toss everything together. Before serving, sprinkle with sesame seeds on top.
