Roti John

A Malaysian street fast food – a crispy half-cooked baguette filled with spicy beef filling and egg. Simple, hearty, and incredibly delicious.
Ingredients
- 114 g Ground beef
- 1 pcs Onion
- 3 pcs Egg
- 1 tbsp Hot chili pepper
- 0.5 pcs Baguette
- to taste Salt
- to taste Black pepper
- to taste Mayonnaise
- to taste Vegetable oil
Instructions
- Finely chop the onion. In a bowl, combine the ground beef, onion, chili, salt, and pepper. Beat the eggs separately and mix with the beef mixture.
- Heat a skillet or griddle with a small amount of vegetable oil over medium heat.
- Spread the beef mixture on the skillet, place half of the baguette on top with the cut side down, and press lightly with a spatula.
- Flip the baguette in the air (or supporting it with a spatula), raw side down to the skillet, and fry for another 1–2 minutes until a light crispy crust forms.
- Transfer the roti john to a plate, brush with mayonnaise if desired, and serve hot, cut into convenient pieces.
