Halt Meva

A traditional Eastern delicacy made from dried fruits and nuts, infused in fragrant rose water. This aromatic, sweet, and incredibly wholesome treat is perfect for connoisseurs and makes an excellent dessert to serve with tea.
Ingredients
- 110 g Dried apricots
- 50 g Light raisins
- 110 g Dark raisins
- 50 g Walnuts
- 50 g Almonds
- 50 g Pistachios
- 50 g Dried cherries
- Rose water
Instructions
- Rinse the dried apricots and both types of raisins. Place them in a bowl and cover with cold water so that it rises about 5 cm above the fruit.
- Place the walnuts, pistachios, and almonds in a separate pot and cover with boiling water. Let them sit as the water cools, then gently rub the nuts between your fingers to remove the skins as they soften. This is a tedious task, but well worth the effort. Once peeled, drain the water.
- Combine the soaked fruits together with their liquid, add the peeled nuts and dried cherries. Pour in the rose water, stir well, cover the bowl with a lid, and refrigerate for two days. During this time, the liquid will become sweetened, developing a thick, syrupy consistency that gives the dish its distinctive flavor and texture.
- When serving, divide the fruits, nuts, and sweet syrup among individual bowls and enjoy!
