Fasírky

Fasírky

Traditional Slovak meat patties with a crispy exterior—tender on the inside and golden on the outside. The perfect dish for a family dinner, served with mashed potatoes or fresh cabbage.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Soak the bread slices in milk until soft. Squeeze out any excess liquid and crumble into fine pieces.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the pork mince, finely chopped onion, garlic, soaked bread, one egg, salt, black pepper, marjoram, mustard, and parsley. Mix thoroughly until well combined.
  3. Form the mixture into patties the size of your palm, pressing each one down slightly.
  4. Lightly coat each patty in flour, then dip in beaten egg and roll in breadcrumbs for a crispy crust.
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry the patties for 4–5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Place on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  6. Serve the fasírky hot with mashed potatoes, cabbage salad, or fresh bread. Accompany with mustard, pickled vegetables, or garlic sauce.
