Burek

A juicy Balkan pastry made from the thinnest layers of crispy phyllo dough with an aromatic meat filling — the perfect street snack that's impossible to eat slowly.
Ingredients
- 1 pcs Phyllo dough
- 150 g Ground beef
- 150 g Onion
- 40 g Vegetable oil
- to taste Salt
- to taste Black pepper
Instructions
- Finely chop the onion. Heat the oil in a skillet, sauté the onion until soft, then add the ground beef and cook, stirring, until done. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- Brush a round baking dish with oil. Place the first sheet of phyllo dough on the bottom, spread a thin layer of filling, cover with the next sheet and brush it well with oil. Repeat the layers (dough → filling → dough with oil) until you have 5–6 layers. Finish with a layer of phyllo dough.
- Place the pastry in a preheated oven and bake until golden and crispy. Remove, cut into 4 portions, and serve immediately.
