Apam Balik (Malaysian Peanut Pancake)

A thick Malaysian pancake with crispy edges and a filling of peanut butter, sugar, and creamed corn. A popular street dessert.
Ingredients
- 200 ml Milk
- 60 ml Vegetable oil
- 2 pcs Eggs
- 160 g Wheat flour
- 3 tsp Baking powder
- 0.5 tsp Salt
- 25 g Butter
- 45 g Sugar
- 3 tbsp Peanut butter
- to taste Crushed peanuts
- to taste Creamed corn
Instructions
- Mix milk, oil, and eggs together. Sift flour, baking powder, and salt over the mixture. Stir well until you have a smooth batter.
- Pour some batter onto a pan and spread it thinly around the edges. Cover for 30–60 seconds until small bubbles appear.
- Top the pancake with butter, creamed corn, crushed peanuts, and sugar. When the bottom is golden brown, fold the pancake in half.
- Cut into wedges. Best served warm.
